Joel is a licensed Certified Public Accountant with a mission: to help business owners and investors build smarter, stronger financial futures. With a focus on client education, he helps individuals set up the right business frameworks and tax strategies from the start, so they can scale with confidence and keep more of what they earn.
Joel began his career at Ernst & Young, LLP, where he spent nearly a decade serving clients in the retail and distribution industries. His areas of technical expertise included revenue recognition, service agreements, inventory, internal controls, and SEC filings for public companies.
In 2003, Joel left public accounting to start his own local tax practice with one goal in mind: to bring big-firm knowledge to self-employed professionals and individual investors. Since then, his firm has processed over 100,000 tax returns, helping entrepreneurs, real estate investors, and small business owners reduce their tax burden and preserve more of their wealth.
In recent years, Joel has helped launch new accounting firms and consults with large companies on tax reduction and wealth preservation strategies. His insights have been featured in podcasts, seminars, live events, and online trainings.
A proud graduate of Brigham Young University, Joel holds both a B.S. and a Master’s degree in Accounting, along with minors in French and general business. He’s also a member of the AICPA and the Utah Association of CPAs.
At his core, Joel is passionate about empowering business owners to take control of their financial destiny with strategies rooted in the tax code, not guesswork.
